A bright fireball streaked across the East Coast on Monday, Nov. 11, catching the attention of hundreds of people from Connecticut to Virginia (did you see it? Former HS Basketball Coach From Hudson Valley Accused Of Sexually-Based Offenses: Police
A former high school coach from the Hudson Valley is facing charges for allegedly getting inappropriate with underage players, according to police. In Virginia, the Arlington County Police Department's Special Victims Unit is investigating Rockland County native George Porcha, age 53, originally from Spring Valley and now of Winterville, North Carolina, after he was charged for multiple sexually-based offenses dating back to allegations made in 2022. Discount Supermarket Chain To Open New Location In Hudson Valley
A popular discount supermarket chain is coming to the Hudson Valley. The new market, Lidl (pronounced Lee-dull), which could open by the end of the year in Rockland County has received Planning Board approval from Orangetown to build in the Tappan Plaza, said Orangetown Supervisor Teresas Kenny. A review of mail-forwarding requests is revealing where New York City residents moved to after the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak began. The United States Post Office received double the monthly average of mail-forwarding requests from New York City in March with 56,000, with that number increasing to 81,000 in April, according to The New York Times.
