Aluf Plastics Violated Odor Emissions At Least Five Times, Orangetown Court Rules
The air might smell a little cleaner in Orangetown after a local business was found guilty in a court of violating the town's code of odor emissions on five occasions. Fire Breaks Out At Aluf Plastics In Orangeburg
A firefighter was injured when an overnight blaze broke out at Aluf Plastics in Orangeburg. The fire began around 2:50 a.m. Sunday in an air filtration system outside the building at 2 Glenshaw St., police said. Upon arrival, officers found a smoke condition inside the building and discovered a fire inside components of the air filtration system on the east side of the building, police said. Power Saw Causes Fire At Orangeburg Plastics Plant
This story has been updated. A power saw being used to dismantle an old tractor-trailer led to a large fire of three tractor-trailers and a dumpster at Aluf Plastics on Glenshaw Street in Orangeburg. The fires were reported around 2 p.m. Tuesday as a dumpster fire spread to the tractor-trailers that contain cardboard, Orangetown Police said. The Orangeburg, Blauvelt, Tappan, Piermont and Sparkill fire departments all responded to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire.
