Sarah M. Wayering, 34, was arrested after police were called to the home in December when a New Windsor residence noticed that more than $6,500 worth of jewelry was missing from her home, said Det. Sgt. Chris Sager.
A subsequent investigation by the detective division led to Wayering, a family member, who had stayed the night in the home a few days before, Sager said.
Wayering was charged with felony grand larceny and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in New Windsor Town Court on Jan. 23.
