Ronald Littlejohn, 72, died around 11:15 p.m., Wednesday, following the crash, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
The crash occurred when Littlejohn, who was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, drove off the road and hit an embankment, rolling the vehicle multiple times before coming to rest in the westbound lanes, Nevel said.
Littlejohn was rushed to Orange Regional Medical Center, where he died, state police said.
Three passengers are also being treated for life-threatening injuries at the medical center, including one who was ejected from the vehicle, Nevel said.
