The arrest of Keyaira Carter, 18, stems from an incident that took place around 10 p.m. Dec. 22, when Wallkill Police Office Julia Ashworth responded to a report of a robbery on Maple Field Drive, said Chief Robert Hertman.
According to the victim, she was sitting in her car when she was approached by Carter and others. Carter struck the victim in the face while removing her property, Hertman said.
Following an investigation by Det. Christopher DiNapoli, Carter was arrested and charged with robbery and petit larceny, police said.
Carter was arraigned before Judge Peter Green, Town of Wallkill Court, where she was released after posting $200 bail. She is scheduled to appear in the court on Jan. 3.
