The incident happened around 6 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, as well as an eyewitness, said the pedestrian ran from behind a parked car, going south to north, across South Street. The pedestrian struck the passenger side bumper, hood and windshield of the car, police said.
The pedestrian was taken to St. Luke's Cornwall for treatment of what was believed to be a concussion, Newburgh officials said.
No tickets were issued to the driver at the scene. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the City of Newburgh Police Department at 845-561-3131.
