Newburgh Man Used Fake Facebook Profile To Extort Nude Photos, Police Say

A 24-year-old Town of Newburgh man was nabbed for threatening to expose nude photos of a woman and ruin her life unless she sent him photos and money, said Town of Newburgh police.

Kyle Meissner, 24, was arrested Thursday following a month-long investigation in conjunction with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, said Lt. Peter Talarico.

Talarico said Meissner used a fake profile account he created on Facebook to contact the victim through Facebook Messenger and that he also attempted to extort an undisclosed amount of money. 

Meissner was charged with felony grand larceny and aggravated harassment.

The investigation is ongoing and The Town of Newburgh Police is looking into the possibility of additional victims. If anyone has had similar incidents, please contact Talarico or Det. Michael Sisia at 845-564-1100.
