Sheriff’s deputies were conducting a property check of the Pine Bush Town Park on Red Mills Road on Monday, Jan. 15 when they observed two people sitting in a 2011 Nissan Altima with the motor running.
The deputies approached the vehicle to check on the occupants and upon making contact, they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, the sheriff's office said.
Further investigation revealed the two were in possession of eight grams of heroin, .2 grams of crack cocaine, 10.5 grams of marijuana, 24 grams of edible marijuana, 8 Percocet tablets, more than 67 Xanax tablets, 14 Oxycontin tablets and eight Clonazepam tablets.
Crawford residents Thomas C. Healy, 28, and Priscilla A. Carbajal, 25, were each charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell (a Class B felony), criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree (a Class C felony), multiple counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree (Class A misdemeanors), as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Both were arraigned before Town of Crawford Judge Mark Schuh and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 secured bond.
