Two men from Long Island were killed when their Maserati struck a tree over the weekend in the Hudson Valley, New York State Police investigators announced.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night, state police troopers from Kingston were dispatched to Oliveria Road in Shandaken, just west of Woodstock, where there was a report of a one-vehicle crash in the area.
Police said that the investigation determined that a 2018 Maserati, which was being driven by Hauppauge resident John Martinez, 39, had left the roadway and struck a large tree before overturning and coming to a rest on its roof.
Martinez and his passenger, Huntington Station resident Michael Colangelo, 31, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third occupant in the vehicle was transported to Albany Medical Center with injuries that are believed to be not life-threatening.
More information on the crash is expected to be released by state police later Monday afternoon at a press conference in Middletown.
