Officials say they're working closely with the family to develop leads and identify suspects. The police department has pursued over 100 separate leads but has been hampered by "a lack of cooperation from several witnesses who have refused to speak with detectives or have provided false or misleading information about the incident," a statement said.

White was shot on Thursday, Aug. 17 on Wallkill Ave. He was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen something suspicious near Wallkill Ave. on the night of Aug. 17 to contact the Middletown Police Department. Residents with private surveillance cameras are also encouraged to reach out.
