One person has been charged in connection with an alleged threat of a shooting at a school in the region after an online post was brought to the attention of police by the public. Man Found Dead In Pool At Orange County Home
Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a Hudson Valley home pool. The incident occurred in Orange County around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, on Aster Way in Wallkill. According to Wallkill Police Lt. Robert McLymore, officers discovered the victim, a 79-year-old Sullivan County man from Rock Hill, unconscious and unresponsive while in the pool. State Trooper From Region Suspended Without Pay After Being Accused Of Robbery
A New York State Trooper has been suspended without pay following his arrest for an alleged robbery in the region. The arrest occurred in Sullivan County in the village of Liberty on Tuesday, Aug. 13, for an incident in 2023. Traffic Alert: Bridge Replacement To Close Roadway In Region
Drivers should note that a section of a Sullivan County roadway will be closed for a bridge replacement. The replacement will occur in the town of Cochecton on County Road 115—Odell Road. The bridge is located immediately west of the intersection of Fred White Road with County Road 115, said Dan Hurst, spokesman for Sullivan County. This section of the roadway is scheduled to be closed to all traffic starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, and will remain closed for approximately three weeks. Travelers will be directed on a detour route using Fred White Road and Tyler Road.

Due to an unhealthy algae bloom, a popular boating and swimming lake in the region has been temporarily closed.
