Man Struck, Killed By SUV Was Inspecting Car After Minor Crash On I-87, Police Say
A man who was involved in a minor crash on the New York Thruway was killed when he stepped out of his vehicle to inspect the damage and was struck by a 2018 Ford SUV. Saul Clark, 55, of Paterson, New Jersey, had gotten out of his vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-87 in West Nyack when he was struck by the passing SUV driven by a Nyack woman just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said. A 19-year-old was killed in a two-vehicle crash after he allegedly ran a red light in the region, striking another car. A 69-year-old man from the Hudson Valley was injured in an explosion inside a school district maintenance building in Westchester that also caused a small fire. The incident happened on Tuesday, Aug. 13 just before 1:20 p.m., when an oil tank explosion was reported at a Mamaroneck School District maintenance building and garage at 119 Gertrude Ave., according to Lt. A person was rescued from the water after they were found clinging to a kayak in a Hudson Valley pond. A teenage girl was severely injured after jumping out of the back door of an Omni bus following a flat tire. The incident occurred in Orange County around 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, on I-84 in Middletown.
