Townhome Fire Injures Two, Destroys Bedroom In Hudson Valley
A fire destroyed a second-story bedroom in a townhome in the Hudson Valley, causing injuries to the residents, including burns and respiratory problems. The incident occurred in Poughkeepsie around 6:10 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 12, at 13 Tall Tree Lane. Arlington Fire District Deputy Chief Adam Kangas said firefighters arrived at the townhome in under six minutes and found a bedroom on fire. A five-hour standoff in Dutchess County ended with the arrest of a 36-year-old man wanted on a warrant for reckless endangerment, police said. Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said Richard P. Danko, age 36, of Dover Plains, was charged following a complaint and an hours-long standoff at his residence on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1 in Dover Plains. Fatal Crash: 42-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim In Hudson Valley
A 42-year-old woman was killed in a late-night crash in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, near the Speedway gas station on Route 9 in Hyde Park. Authorities identified Monica R. Deyo, from Hyde Park, lying in the roadway with severe, life-threatening injuries. "Despite extensive efforts to administer life-saving measures, she was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene," Benson said. Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly robbed a gas station in the region at gunpoint. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 11:25 p.m., Monday, Oct. 21, at the Valero Gas Station on Violet Avenue in Hyde Park. Person Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle On Hudson Valley Roadway
A man was hit and killed by a Jeep as he crossed a busy roadway in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, on Violet Avenue in Hyde Park. According to Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson, Lawrence Williams, age 76, of Hyde Park, was crossing Violet Avenue from the Sunoco Gas Station to his residence at the Hyde Park Assisted Living when he was struck by a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 41-year-old Hude Park woman.
