2 Firefighters Injured After Blaze Breaks Out At Woodmere Home
A house fire on Long Island left two firefighters injured. The blaze broke out at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Woodmere at a home on Mosher Avenue. Responders arrived to find flames emanating from the rear of the residence. All occupants were evacuated safely, while multiple fire departments, led by the Woodmere Fire Department, worked to extinguish the blaze. The two injured firefighters declined medical treatment. Search crews have suspended efforts to locate a potentially missing kayaker near Long Island. A boater contacted the US Coast Guard at around 12:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, after spotting an unmanned 15-foot kayak near the village Lloyd Harbor. The kayak was found to be carrying live bait, a fishing pole, and a backpack, officials said. Police are asking for help in identifying a man who forced his way into a Long Island home and assaulted a resident. The incident happened in Commack, at a residence on Daisy Lane, at around 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. A shark sighting kept swimmers out of the water at three New York beaches. The sighting was reported on Long Island at Nickerson Beach in Nassau County. Police are searching for a man who allegedly committed a sex offense near an elementary school. It happened on Sunday, June 23 in Seaford, according to Nassau County Police. Authorities are searching for a person who caused an explosion at a Long Island 7-Eleven and his two accomplices. It happened on Wednesday, May 29 in Elmont.
