Emergency crews in Hewlett were called about a fatal crash near Broadway and Everit Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18. Jeffrey Frank, 74, was crossing Broadway when he was struck by an SUV traveling northbound. Witnesses told Nassau County Police that a male driver exited the vehicle, dragged Frank to the side of the road, and then fled the scene. Seen Her Or This Car? Alert Issued For Missing Hewlett Woman Have you seen her? A Long Island woman has gone missing and authorities are asking the public's help in locating her.  Betty Falk, age 66, was last seen leaving her Hewlett home in her 2023 black Mercedes-Benz around 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7. She is described as being vulnerable. Police say she's 5-foot-4, 110 pounds with long black hair. Her destination is unknown. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Nassau County Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
