PIP Delays: Here's What To Expect, Rockland

Motorists planning on traveling on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Rockland County can expect nightly delays as crews continue construction activity in Haverstraw and Stony Point through mid-September.

Lasting until Friday, Sept. 15, there will be a full closure of the southbound lanes between Exit 18 (Route 6) and Exit 15 (Old Gate Hill Road) from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on nights into early mornings on weekdays. On Saturdays, a single southbound lane is expected to remain closed until 10 a.m. as crews complete work.

Day 1 for the work was Monday, Aug. 7.

Additionally, closures are expected intermittently on that stretch on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Single northbound lane closures will continue on the parkway between 8 p.m. and noon.

There will be signage in place to alert motorists of the detours and drivers can expect delays in the area as crews work.
