Off-Duty Detective Cleared In Shooting Death Of Neighbor
An off-duty Rockland County detective who shot and killed his Orange County neighbor has been cleared of any wrongdoing by a grand jury. Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced that on Wednesday, March 17, an Orange County grand jury declined to file charges against an off-duty Town of Ramapo Police detective who shot a man on Monday, July 6, at the detective’s residence in the Town of Cornwall. One Hospitalized In Rockland Crash After Driver Ignores Stop Light, Police Say
A rollover car crash in Rockland County sent one driver to the hospital after one party ignored a red light, according to police. At approximately 8:10 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, a Town of Ramapo police officer responded to the scene of the crash near Hemion Road in the Suffern Park area of Montebello. Both drivers were upright when he arrived, said police, but witnesses told police that one vehicle had rolled over. The injured party was sent to Nyack Hospital as a precaution, police said. The other operator, who ran a stoplight, was issued a traffic summons.

Rockland Religious School Serial Burglar Nabbed By Police
A 34-year-old man has been arrested for a string of burglaries at religious schools that took place in Ramapo and Spring Valley. According to the Town of Ramapo Police, Aharon Greenfeld, city unknown, was arrested after the department's investigation division identified him as a suspect and shared the information with area police departments. Based on the information developed by Ramapo police, a Spring Valley Police officer recognized Greenfield in a taxi cab and stopped the cab and arrested the wanted man. Alert Issued For Rockland Man Wanted On Numerous Charges
Police have issued an alert regarding a Rockland man wanted for various charges. Town of Ramapo Police say that have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Alejandro Perez, 48, on Friday, Aug. 30. Perez is wanted for charges including possession of burglar tools, possession of stolen property and petit larceny. Anyone with information about Perez’s location is urged to contact the Ramapo Police Department at (845)-357-2400.

Seen Him? Alert Issued For Wanted Rockland Burglary Suspect
Ramapo Police are asking the public for help in locating a man wanted for several crimes, ranging from burglary to harassment. Mark A. Jones, 28, committed the crimes at different times recently and include charges of burglary; petit larceny; circumvention of an interlock device; possession of a controlled substance; obstructing governmental administration (two counts); harassment, and for traffic and vehicle violations, Ramapo police said. Anyone with information pertaining to Mark Jones’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Town of Ramapo Police at 845-357-2400.
