Multi-Vehicle Crash Injuries Three After Driver Falls Asleep At Wheel In Rockland, Police Say
A three-vehicle crash in Rockland County on Route 202 occurred after one of the drivers allegedly fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle. The crash took place on Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the Pomona Section of Ramapo, said the Ramapo Police. An initial investigation found that a black sedan was heading east when it crossed the double yellow line and struck two silver sedans that were traveling westbound, police said. Firefighter Injured Battling Rockland House Fire
A Monsey home was destroyed by fire as firefighters worked in hot, humid conditions to battle the blaze. The fire started around 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, at the home on Mapleleaf Road, said the Ramapo Police Department. Multiple fire departments were called to the scene due to the difficult conditions including working in void spaces due to the construction of an addition to the home, officials said. Six Injured, One Severely, In Valley Cottage Apartment Fire
One person was severely injured and remains in the hospital and another five received treatment including a firefighter during an intense fire that destroyed a dozen apartments and damaged several others in Rockland. The fire began around 2:35 p.m., Sunday, April 14, at the Sierra Vista Apartments, Building 12, at 80 Sierra Vista Lane, in Valley Cottage, said Clarkstown Police Chief Raymond McCullagh.
