Traffic Alert: Lane Reductions Expected Along I-84 In Hudson Valley Commuters should note that a section of I-84 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising Dutchess County motorists that I-84 between Exit 44 (Route 52) in the Town of Fishkill and Exit 46 (Route 9) in the Town of East Fishkill, Mondays through Saturdays, beginning Monday, Aug. 12, through Monday, Sept. 30, between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For up-to-date travel information, call 511, or visit www.511NY.org.

Part Of Busy Hudson Valley Road To Close For Months: Here's Where Part of a well-traveled Hudson Valley road near its intersection with a busy highway will close for several weeks as crews replace a culvert, officials announced.  Beginning on Monday, July 15, part of Route 311 in the Putnam County town of Patterson will close between the Interstate 84 Exit 61 on and off ramps and Ludingtonville Road (Route 43), according to the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services. Single-Lane Closure Scheduled On Route 208 Lane closures have been scheduled in both directions on Route 208 for several weeks in Orange County. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert warning that beginning on Monday, Oct. 21, there will be lane closures on Route 208 in Montgomery to allow construction crews to perform highway maintenance work. The closures will be daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Bradley Lane and Route 52 through Friday, Dec. 1. During the project, motorists in the area can expect delays and have been advised to seek alternate routes, when possible.

Support Pours In For Family Of Mother, Son Killed In Hudson Valley Accident The grieving family of a mother and an infant who were killed and her three other children injured after being hit as they crossed Route 52 in Fishkill are asking for help with funeral expenses through a GoFundMe page. The family has set a goal of $2,500 for funeral expenses. By Wednesday morning, nearly twice that amount has been raised. The accident occurred around 8:40 p.m. Sunday near the I-84 Diner near Old Glenham Road, when a 53-year-old Fishkill motorist failed to see the family attempting to cross the road from the north shoulder and struck them, state police said. Police announced…
