An 18-year-old Bergen County woman is accused of stealing more than $49,000 in handbags and jewelry from her NYU roommate and then selling the items online, according to police and various news reports. Kaitlyn Fung, of Old Tappan, was charged on Thursday, May 2 with grand larceny after confessing to taking a 19-year-old complainant's ring, bracelet, tote, enclave, and top, totaling about $49,000, the NYPD tells Daily Voice. Services for Wallington's Sylvia Lubak have been set. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Warner-Wozniak Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Paterson followed by a private cremation. The 26-year-old's body was found Sunday in the Hackensack River and identified by Bogota Police on Monday, authorities told Daily Voice. Police identified the woman whose body was pulled from the Hackensack River over the weekend as a missing 26-year-old who had been living in Bogota. Bogota Police Detective Victor Negron said his department identified the body as Sylvia Lubak on Monday. Negron could not release more information due to an ongoing investigation.
