Details of those documents were reported on Friday, July 30 by both The Washington Post and New York Times. The high viral load of the Delta variant makes it possible for vaccinated who become infected through breakthrough cases to spread the virus in some cases, the CDC now says. “We have studies that have now shown that even on the first swab on somebody with a…

Former Sports Writer Kat O'Brien Says She Was Raped By Major League Baseball Player
Former sports reporter Kat O'Brien has opened up about being raped by a Major League Baseball player when she was 22 years old. O'Brien -- who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business -- kept the incident a secret until now, when she told her story in a New York Times essay. The now-40-year-old writer says she had just graduated from Notre Dame and was working as a (mostly high school) sports reporter for "The Fort Worth Star-Telegram" in 2002. She was in a hotel room with an interview subject for a longer piece on foreign-born athletes in the U.S., w…

The US Food and Drug Administration could authorize Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 12 to 15 as early as next week, The New York Times reported on Monday, May 3, citing federal officials. The timing could not be better for school districts that are resuming in-person instruction and hoping for a full return to normalcy next fall. Vaccinating children is also a crucial element in achieving herd immunity and decreasing numbers of hospitalizations and deaths, The Times says. While NJ, NY and CT positive rates have been dropping, other states including Pennsylvani…

19: Nation's Least Vaccinated Counties Share Common Bond, Report Says
The COVID-19 vaccine has become the latest thing to become split along “red” and “blue” party lines, according to a newly released study. A new report released in The New York Times, which examined survey and vaccine administration data for nearly every US county, found that those willing to receive a vaccination and actual vaccination rates to date were lower in regions that voters sought to re-elect former President Donald Trump. According to the report, some largely Democratic cities find themselves unable to meet the demand required for the number of vaccines required, while other more …

Fairfield County resident Rich Cohen, of Ridgefield, followed his son Micah during the 2018-19 hockey season as he played for the Ridgefield Bears Pee Wee A team, which led to the conception of his latest book, “Pee Wee: Confessions of a Hockey Parent,” which was published earlier this year. Cuomo Aides Doctored Documents To Hide Higher Number Of Nursing Home Deaths, New Report Says
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is again making headlines for the wrong reasons, this time because his aides reportedly doctored documents to conceal the number of COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes at the height of the pandemic. It is alleged in a New York Times report that Cuomo’s aides rewrote a report from state health officials to conceal the true number of COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes while strengthening his reputation as a leader. According to the report, Cuomo’s aides rewrote the report before it went public to omit 9,250 deaths that were recorded by the state Health Department, prompt…
