Woman Accused Of Setting Fire At Adult Living Facility In Area, Police Say
A Hudson Valley woman has been arrested for allegedly starting a fire in a senior living facility in order to harm another resident. Barbara Desilva of Spring Valley was arrested on Tuesday, April 6 after Spring Valley police responded to the Golden Acres Residential Facility, at 11 Prospect St., for a report that a resident had started a fire, said Spring Valley Police Det. Matthew Galli. According to Galli, an investigation found that Desilva intentionally set the fire in order to harm a man who lives at the facility. Alert Issued For Missing Rockland Woman
Police are asking for the public help locating a Spring Valley woman who has been missing since August. Kelly Kaps, 39, was last seen on Aug. 14 in Paterson, New Jersey. Police did not offer additional details surrounding her disappearance. Kaps is described as being 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and between 130 and 185 pounds. Man Found Dead At Park In Rockland
Police are investigating the discovery of a dead man at a park in the area. Dominique Mesadieu, 50, of Spring Valley, was found around 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, by a Spring Valley employee in Memorial Park, according to police. While the investigation is still ongoing police said there is no indication of criminal activity, Spring Valley Police Det. Matthew Galli.
