Suspect Nabbed Stealing Items From Car In Handicapped Space At Hudson Valley Supermarket
A Hudson Valley man was charged with alleged robbery and menacing after stealing items from a car parked in a handicapped space and then attacking a person who attempted to intervene. The incident occurred in Orange County around noon on Thursday, Aug. 29, in the parking lot of Market 32 at 39 N. Plank Road in Newburgh. According to Lt. Hudson Valley Thief With 12 Previous Larcenies Caught Again, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man who has allegedly been nabbed for 12 larcenies this year and has 10 additional outstanding, has been arrested again. Orange County resident Jeffrey Odom, age 33, of Newburgh, was arrested on Thursday, March 23 at the Walmart located at 1201 Route 300 in Newburgh. Town of Newburgh Police responded to Walmart for the report of a larceny in progress and found Odom was fighting with an officer, said Lt. Peter Talarico, of the Newburgh Police. ShopRite has confirmed it plans to close another store in the Hudson Valley this month. On Thursday, Sept. 2, spokeswoman Karen O'Shea said the company has decided to close the Orange County ShopRite store in Newburgh on North Plank Road. Price Chopper Will Be Charging For Use Of Paper Bags
For shoppers who forget to bring their reusable shopping bags, get ready to pay at Price Chopper/Market 32 when a new law banning plastic takes effect March 1. The chain joins other large markets such as Wegmans in attempting to encourage shoppers to get used to the idea of reusable bags as a way to do what the law intents, help save the environment, said Mona Golub, a spokeswoman for the company.
