Mom Tries Driving Into Hudson River With 2-Year-Old On Lap, Police Say A 23-year-old mother is facing an attempted murder charge after allegedly trying to drive into the Hudson River with her toddler son in the car. Police in Albany were called at around 5 a.m. Saturday, May 6, with reports that a car appeared to be driving into the water at a boat launch on Quay Street, according to Albany Police. When officers arrived, they found a sedan stuck on a curb, feet away from the water. Albany County resident Matthew Billetts, age 16, died Monday afternoon, June 13, according to a statement from the Watervliet City School District.
