Man Who Climbed Girder Of Hudson Valley Bridge Talked Down By Police A suicidal man ran to a Hudson Valley bridge and climbed a girder after spotting police who were responding to a call of a potential bridge jumper. The incident played out in Dutchess County around 4:15 p.m., Monday, June 26 at the Mid-Hudson Bridge in the City of Poughkeepsie. According to City of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. The incident took place in Orange County around 7:30 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 8, in the City of Newburgh. 'Person In Crisis' Hospitalized After Hours-Long Standoff In Area, Police Say A person described as being "in crisis" was hospitalized following an hours-long standoff with responders at a residence in the area.
