Two counties in the Hudson Valley have the highest COVID-19 positivity rate in New York State, according to the most recent data from the Department of Health.
In Orange County, the 6.7 percent positivity rate of those tested for COVID-19 is the highest in the state, followed by Rockland County, which sat at a total of 6.2 percent over the weekend.
The rates are the highest in New York, in front of Bronx County (5.5 percent), and Suffolk County (5.4 percent).

More than a million New Yorkers have now received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and are fully vaccinated against the virus.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said that as of 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, 12.1 percent of New Yorkers have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while more than a million have received the second dose.
The state has received a total of 2,335,250 first doses, 2,147,076 of which have been administered. New York has received 1,284,300 second doses, 1,033,367 of which have been administered.

There were 14 new COVID-19 fatalities reported in Rockland this week, as the number of active cases in the county ticked upward.
Rockland County health officials were reporting 2,566 active COVID-19 cases on Friday, Jan. 8, up from 2,293 as recently as Monday, Jan. 4.
A total of 106 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized from the virus, down from 75 on Monday, and the new virus-related deaths brought the total to 785 since March.

Covid-19: Hudson Valley Sees Uptick In Positive Testing Rate; Latest County Totals
The Hudson Valley saw an uptick in the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Saturday, Oct. 31.
The positive testing rate in all focus areas under New York State's Micro-Cluster strategy is 3.01 percent, and outside the focus zone areas is 1.30 percent.
Within the focus areas, 15,493 test results were reported Friday, Oct. 30, yielding 467 positives. In the remainder of the state, not counting these focus areas, 121,469 test results were reported, yielding 1,582 positives.

That's the question Orangetown Supervisor Chris Day is asking residents in an effort to help Rockland County make a decision on the often polarizing topic.
Under Gov.
