Beloved Rockland County Firefighter, Coach, And Family Man Miles E. Taylor Dies Suddenly
Sometimes, you never know who that firefighter is working to save.
But all have a story, as does Miles E. Taylor, former Chief of the Nyack Fire Department in Rockland County, who died suddenly on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Taylor, 60, of Nyack and Perkinsville, VT, was a well-known video producer for major news outlets, including ESPN, CNN, CBS, and NBC. He was also a member of the Nyack Fire Department since age 16.
In his obituary, Taylor's wife, Lee-Ann Taylor, said he loved adventure and the thrill of danger.

A lifelong Hudson Valley resident who was a beloved high school coach, and teacher, as well as the chief of a local fire department, and a standout college athlete in Connecticut, has died.
Northern Westchester resident Michael Repp, of Somers and formerly of Katonah, died on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at age 82 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco.

Covid-19: Here Are New Groups Who Can Now Get Vaccines In NY
New groups of New Yorkers are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine - though it could be some time until they are able to “get the needle into their arms.”
Beginning on Monday, Jan. 11, New York entered “phase 1B” of the state’s vaccination program, which will permit new groups to receive the oft-talked about vaccine.
In phase 1B, first responders, corrections officers, teachers, transit workers, and the general population over the age of 75 are eligible to receive their first doses.
A total of 3.2 million New Yorkers are eligible to be vaccinated in phase 1B, including:

Three-Alarm Fire With Explosions Breaks Out At Northern Westchester Condo Complex

Firefighters from multiple municipalities battled a three-alarm blaze at a luxury condominium complex in Northern Westchester.
The fire broke out in a single unit at the Half Moon Bay complex in Croton, just before 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, and there were explosions reported, according to authorities at the scene.
The fire, which was confined to the one unit, was brought under control by 10 a.m.
