A New York man has been charged with homicide after a dispute with a fellow patron at a restaurant/bar over not wearing a face mask. It's believed to be the first time such a dispute resulted in a fatality amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. The incident, which happened on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Pamp's Red Zone Bar and Grill in West Seneca, a suburb of Buffalo, left an 80-year-old man dead after the victim reportedly questioned another customer over failing to wear a face mask. UPDATE: Hackensack detectives arrested a city woman Tuesday in last week's viral video assault of a Staples customer who asked her to wear her COVID mask. Terri Thomas was charged with aggravated assault by city detectives who arrested her on Tuesday. New Tappan Zee Bridge's Shared Bicycle-Pedestrian Path Will Open To Public
The new 3.6-mile shared bicycle-pedestrian path on the new Tappan Zee Bridge, with landings in Westchester and Rockland, will open to the public. The opening starts at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 15. The 12-foot wide shared-use path extends from its Westchester Landing (333 South Broadway) in the Village of Tarrytown, across one of the widest points of the Hudson River, to the Rockland Landing in the Village of South Nyack (1200 Route 9W).
