Fairfield County's Peter Buck, Subway Co-Founder, Dies At Danbury Hospital
Fairfield County's Peter Buck, who became a billionaire after making a small investment in the sandwich shop that later became Subway, has died. Buck, a longtime Danbury resident, died Thursday, Nov. 18, at Danbury Hospital, the company announced. A cause of death was not released. He was 90 years old. Memorial services have been scheduled to honor the life of a Westchester County man who died after a powerful Nor'easter rolled in while he was kayaking on the Long Island Sound. Laurence Broderick, age 45, of Scarsdale, was reported overdue by his family on Tuesday, Oct. 26, after he left Hempstead en route to Mamamronek in his kayak at about 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, authorities reported. Police have identified a 10-year-old boy who was killed in a two-vehicle crash. in the area. Rockland County resident Michael Bosco, of Pomona, was killed around 6:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, in the crash in Nanuet, at the intersection of Route 304 and West Nyack Road, in Nanuet. A 45-year-old woman who was reported missing in New York earlier this week has been found dead, state police announced. On Tuesday, June 29, an alert was issued for Angola resident Gina J. Baca, who was reported missing by the Seneca Nation of Indians in Erie County. This week, on Thursday, July 1, State Police said that Baca was located and was found dead.
