Police Issue Alert After Coyote Sighting In Westchester A coyote warning has been issued in a Westchester town following a recent rash of sightings in the area. While noting that seeing a coyote in Rye is not an unusual thing, the local police department issued an alert to the community advising them to take common-sense precautions to ensure that man and animal can peacefully coexist. New Coyote Sightings Reported In Three Northern Westchester Locales There are some wild new neighbors setting up shop in Westchester. The Mount Pleasant Police Department is reporting several new wild coyote sightings in the area, prompting it to issue an alert to the community. Coyotes were spotted in the area of Warren Avenue and Sherman Avenue in Hawthorne; on Hardscrabble Road in Chappaqua and Choate Lane in Pleasantville. The sightings follow several in New Rochelle, Greenburgh, Eastchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Rockland counties.
