The votes are in for New York’s Capital Region District 19 congressional seat, where Democrat Josh Riley is on track to defeat Republican incumbent Marc Molinaro, according to The New York Times.

Pair Of 45-Year-Old Women From Region Nabbed For Animal Cruelty In Case Involving 40 Cats
Two women from the region have been charged with 40 counts of animal cruelty to cats.
The incident occurred in Columbia County on Friday, Oct. 18, in Hillsdale.
After receiving a tip about possible animal abuse, members of the New York State Police, with the Columbia-Greene Humane Society, Animal Nation, and the Hillsdale Building Department, determined that Jennifer Rossi, age 45, and Peggy Card, age 45, both of Hillsdale, failed to care for the animals, said Trooper AJ Hicks.

Man Who Traveled Across NY To Kill Ex-Wife's Partner Apprehended In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A man was apprehended in the region after authorities say he traveled hundreds of miles across New York to murder his ex-wife's partner.
State Police troopers responded to a Columbia County 911 broadcast about the suspect on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The suspect, Andrew J. Case, age 41, of West Seneca, in Erie County, was located and arrested on Route 9 in the Columbia County town of Greenport, according to police.
An investigation determined he was en route to Westchester County with three shotguns, police said.

Columbia County resident Anthony Servider, age 50, of the Town of Greenport, was arrested Thursday, March 28, following a search of his Joslen Boulevard residence.
Inside, officers found more than 250 grams of ecstasy, over 132 grams of ketamine, and more than 16 grams of MDA, according to New York State Police, which partnered with the Hudson Police Department on the case.

Capital Region Town Bookkeeper Tried Giving Himself Pay Raise, Police Say
A town employee in the region is facing charges after allegedly attempting to give himself an unauthorized pay raise.
Columbia County resident Donald Pierro, age 70, of Hillsdale, was arrested Friday, March 22, on suspicion of attempted grand larceny and related charges.
Greene County Sheriff’s officials said a Town of Athens employee contacted the agency on Monday, March 18, reporting a possible theft by Pierro, the bookkeeper to Town Supervisor Michael Pirrone.
An investigation found that Pierro altered town payroll records in an attempt to benefit himself, deputies said.

Republicans appeared poised to win in New York’s 19th Congressional District, with Marc Molinaro seemingly on track to defeat Democrat Josh Riley early Wednesday, Nov. 9.
Molinaro, the Dutchess County executive, was leading Riley by 2.2 percentage points, 51 to 49 percent, as of early Wednesday morning, Nov. 9, with more than 95 percent of the votes in.
