A marketing company owner from Rockland County admitted in federal court that he was a major figure in scamming Medicare, TRICARE, and other benefit programs out of $127 million.

1 Killed, 5 Injured In Head-On Hudson Valley Crash
One person was killed and five injured during a head-on, three-car Hudson Valley crash.
It took place in Orange County around 8:30 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 15 in Woodbury, on Route 6.
An initial investigation of the crash revealed that a 2021 Ford Explorer was traveling east on Route 6 when the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Rockland County resident Chaim Gordon, age 24, from Spring Valley, attempted to pass a Cadillac in front of him and crossed over the double yellow line and entered the opposite lane striking a 2003 Nissan X-Terra head-on, said Trooper Steven Nevel.

Former Yale Med School Employee Admits Stealing, Selling $40 Million In Electronics
A former Yale University School of Medicine employee has admitted to stealing $40 million in computer and electronic hardware from the university.
Jamie Petrone, age 42, pleaded guilty on Monday, March 28, to wire fraud and filing a false tax return, according to Leonard Boyle, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Petrone is a former resident of Naugatuck in New Haven County, and she currently resides in Georgia, Boyle said.

Road-Rage Chase Between BMW, Cadillac Ends In Crash, Police Say
A road-rage car chase led to a crash into a utility pole when the two cars collided in Westchester.
The crash took place around 8:10 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, on Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers, said Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos.
According to Politopoulos, the drivers of a BMW and a Cadillac were engaged in a dispute that escalated into a car chase, with the BMW allegedly pursuing the Cadillac on Nepperhan Avenue.
The chase ended when the vehicles made contact, sending the BMW into the utility pole and the Cadillac spinning out.
