Officials have revealed why a single-manned aircraft crashed on the grounds of a school in Northern Westchester. The cause of the crash, which happened at a school in Yorktown on June 29, 2023, was detailed in a report released by the National Transportation Safety Board on Wednesday, July 24. This story has been updated. A woman was killed when a small plane crashed near an airport in New York. Emergency crews in Albany County were called at around 8:15 a.m. Monday, June 17, for a small plane that was seen "spinning around" before crashing in Colonie, near Albany Shaker and Maxwell roads. The scene is in a wooded area just south of Albany International Airport. Crews arrived to find the plane fully engulfed in flames. The identities have been released of two people who were killed after a small plane crashed near Westchester County Airport. The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 near the airport in White Plains. The wreckage of the single-engine Beechcraft A36 was found just west of the airport near Rye Lake (marked in red in the image above). The two were en route from John F.
