US Presidential Scholar: Northern Westchester Student Named Candidate For Top Honor
A senior at a Northern Westchester high school has been nominated for one of the nation's highest honors for students. Daniel Ndocaj, a senior at Byram Hills High School in Armonk, has been selected as a candidate for the US Presidential Scholars Program, the Byram Hills Central School District announced on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Two Westchester Schools Awarded Blue Ribbon Status
Some schools in the Hudson Valley have earned top marks in 2021 by being recognized with National Blue Ribbon status. US Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced 325 schools across the country were recognized for their overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among students. These Rockland Students Named National Merit Semifinalists
Some of Rockland County’s best and brightest students were among those chosen as semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, which celebrates academic achievement in high school students. On Wednesday, 16,000 high school seniors were chosen from around the country. Those 16,000 will soon be pared to 7,500 finalists, who will be picked to receive upwards of $31 million in scholarships, which will be announced next spring as they prepare to continue their educations in college.
