Wrong-Way Driver Killed, Two Teens Seriously Injured In Route 304 New City Crash: Police A head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver on Route 304 in New City left one man dead and two teenagers seriously injured on Monday, Dec. 23, Clarkstown Police reported. At approximately 9:15 p.m., officers responded to the scene near the intersection of Route 304 and Second Street. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 35-year-old man from Ohio, driving a 2010 black Hyundai sedan, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when he collided head-on with a 2013 silver BMW. The BMW was occupied by an 18-year-old male driver and a 16-year-old female passenger, police said. …

The state Department of Transportation said Route 9W will be closed to traffic in both directions between Shadyside Avenue and Hickey Street in Orangetown from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, to facilitate roadway repairs, weather permitting.
