The Republican incumbent received 13,483 out of 24,134 (55.9 percent) of the votes on Tuesday, to tackle challenging Democrat Michael Sullivan’s 10,651 votes.
In Ward 1, Republican incumbent Councilman Frank Borelli earned 63 percent of the vote to defeat challenger Ricky Sanchez, while Democratic incumbent councilman Daniel Caprara narrowly defeated challenger Peter Bradley by less than 50 votes, 3,314-3,289.
There was another close race in Ward 3, where Democrat Donald Franchino earned 52 percent of the votes to top Adrienne Carey. Challenger Patrick Carroll, a Democrat, took incumbent John Noto, Jr.’s seat by a vote of 2,626 to 2,288.
