Two suspects were observed stuffing merchanidse into a bag by a loss prevention employee at approximately 6:15 p.m. The employee approached the two men when they reportedly attempted to exit the store without paying, police said.
One of the suspects, Daffton Bloomfield, 25, of the Bronx, used mace on the employee while the two struggled. He was apprehended by responding patrol units. The other suspect, who is unidentified was able to flee the scene, police said.
Bloomfield was in possession of fragrance products valued at $1,460. He was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Bloomfield is awaiting arraignment, police said.
