John Cocuzza was arrested by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office. He has been charged with 17 counts of first-degree tampering with public records, a felony, and 17 counts each of second-degree falsifying business records, second-degree tampering with public records and official misconduct, according to lohud.com.
Cocuzza is alleged to have failed to observe inmates on suicide or precautionary watches between Sept. 2 and Oct. 21, according to lohud.com.
Cocuzza was arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court on Monday and released without bail. he is to return on March 7, according to lohud.com.
