Clarkstown PD Show Off 1960s Fleet on #TBT

CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. — In honor of the popular social media trend Throwback Thursday — #tbt — the Clarkstown police dug deep into the archives.

Their 1960s fleet shows five shiny Pontiac sedans lined up outside police headquarters.

Throwback Thursday is a trend among social media sites such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook wherein users post or repost older photographs with the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday or #TBT. Sports Illustrated attributes the origin of the trend to a sneaker-specific blog named Nice Kicks, according to Wikipedia.

It’s so popular that there are more than 40 million pictures tagged with #tbt on Instagram, another nearly 23 million with #throwbackthursday.
