NANUET, N.Y. – Eileen B. Newman, a longtime resident of Nanuet, died on Monday, Dec. 7, at her home. She was 83.
Newman was born June 23, 1932, in Brooklyn to Martin Bowen and Theresa Kilgallen Bowen. She worked as a sales associate for Macy’s in Nanuet for 17 years before retiring in 1995.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, and a brother, Martin.
Newman is survived by her son, Bernard and his wife Catherine; three grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret, Mary and Theresa; a brother, Frank; two sisters-in-law, Terry and Rita Bowen; and a grandson-in-law, Steve Rapino.
Visiting hours are Monday, Dec. 14, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Nanuet. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
