Young Volunteers To Build 'Contemplation Trail' At New City Hospice

NEW CITY, N.Y. -- Friends and family members of patients at a New City hospice will soon have a place for a few moments of quiet reflection, thanks to a group of young volunteers.

Young volunteers from Rockland County's Conservation and Service Corps. will be building a "Contemplation Trail" at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City.

According to Rockland officials, the “Contemplation Trail” will be built Friday by participants in the county’s Conservation and Service Corps.

The corps is a Youth Bureau program, according to County Executive Ed Day.

It will be installed at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence of United Hospice of Rockland on Buena Vista Road in New City.

"This is a wonderful example of young people giving back to their community," Day said.

Community volunteers will also help build the trail.
