As of 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, crews were dealing with 507 active outages, which are affecting 31,032 customers in the Hudson Valley as wind gusts continue to whip at up to 60 mph in the area.
In Orange County, 6,097 customers are experiencing power interruptions, with more than 1,000 customers in Deerpark and Warwick reporting outages. Con Edison officials said that crews are currently in the process of assessing the damage before providing an estimated time of restoration.
In Rockland, 16,440 O&R customers reported outages, affecting 116,468 - 14 percent - of the county. Clarkstown (5,439 customers affected), Orangetown (2,560), Nyack (1,942), South Nyack (1,211) and Montebello (1,026) were among the neighborhoods hit hardest by the storm.
According to the National Weather Service, winds are expected to reach up to 60 mph, with a mix of snow and rain in the area over the afternoon. Several inches of snow is expected to potentially accumulate.
