News12 reported Friday that talks, which are focusing on wages and health benefits, have resumed between the railroad and union employees and NJ Transit officials are expressing optimism that a deal will be done in time to avert a walk-out.
However, if that doesn’t happen, commuters can take the Tappan ZEExpress bus to Westchester, where they can get on a train to New York City, lohud.com reported.
The Rockland Department of Public Transportation will, according to the lohud.com article, honor valid rail tickets on its bus service from places such as Spring Valley and Nanuet.
The railroad's emergency bus service will cross-honor rail tickets to or from Hoboken, Newark and New York City, the lohud.com article said.
