The students, who are required to attend 79 hours of training, learned "forcible entry" techniques for inward and outward opening doors, a critical skill for 21st-century firefighting.
The Fire Science curriculum is part of the school's Criminal Justice program and includes basic firefighter training, which helps to prep students for the Firefighter I certification, an exam required by the state to become a volunteer firefighter.
