Among those on hand during the naturalization ceremony at the Rockland County Fire Training Center on Firemen's Memorial Drive in Pomona was County Executive Ed Day, who offered his congratulations, according to his office.
The Rockland County Clerk administers naturalization ceremonies on a bimonthly basis, according to the county's website, which says that immigration forms and inquiries are handled by the United States Department of Citizenship and Immigration Services in Manhattan.
The ceremony was just one such event in the region late last week. In Dutchess, county officials welcomed in their own crop of new citizens.
