A suspect in the shooting of three people in Northern Westchester County, resulting in the death of a teenage boy, is now behind bars after a 12-hour manhunt that caused school closures led to his arrest.
Fernando Jimenez, age 40, shot his girlfriend and her two children in the Baldwin Place section of Somers, according to authorities.
One of the children, a 10th-grade student at Somers High School, was killed. The boy's brother, an eighth-grader, was hospitalized along with his mother.
Jimenez was arraigned before the town of Somers Court on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 29.

A months-long investigation has led to the arrest of a man who authorities say impersonated a federal agent and used fear and intimidation to convince a Long Island victim to hand over money.
On Friday, Oct. 25, the suspect, Om Parkash, age 31, of Queens, was charged with second-degree grand larceny (a Class C felony).

A woman has been sentenced to six months in jail for the double-fatal, hit-and-run crash in the region.
Orange County resident Angela Fischl, age 25, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty to two counts of leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death on Tuesday, Oct. 15,
