The social was attended by around 65 people, including Suffern Mayor Ed Markunas, members of the Suffern Chamber of Commerce and Amy Keller and Bob Guidubaldi, the owners of Jane's Ice Cream.
Daisy Dreams was founded in February 2015 by husband and wife team Peter and Kathleen Ruane, who had always wanted to run a business.
“We wanted to do something we both love,” Kathleen Ruane said, “ and we've always loved fun and happy things.”
While Peter was a former police lieutenant with the New York City Police Department and Kathleen is a longtime public relations executive, the pair always loved the theatre and wanted to bring that theatricality to a business.
That theatricality comes through what they offer at Daisy Dreams.
“We want to offer a unique and fun experience,” Kathleen says, “like a party.”
Daisy Dreams specializes in what Kathleen calls 'special themes,' and examples include making bubble-like balloons for a swim team banquet and a Minnie Mouse-themed party.
The Ruanes have future plans for the store, including balloon craft night and promotions where customers can buy ice cream and receive a free balloon.
Daisy Dreams is located at 18 Indian Rock Shopping Plaza on the Suffern/Montebello border.
