No stranger to Nyack Hospital, Lunney will be responsible for providing leadership to the hospital's nursing staff, with particular emphasis on driving nursing excellence and performance improvement. Well known to the organization, she served two terms as interim chief nursing officer from 2015 to 2017.
“Kathy is a collaborative, seasoned healthcare professional with more than 25 years of nursing leadership experience,” said Dr. Mark E. Geller, President and CEO of Nyack Hospital. “She has a proven expertise and passion for creating a positive practice environment by the development of shared governance, a clinical advancement program and a standard care delivery model. Kathy is strong on change management, problem solving, decision making and team building. We are very pleased that she will be staying on with us.”
Prior to her interim engagement at Nyack Hospital, Lunney served as chief nursing officer at Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley in Kingston, N.Y. She received a post graduate certificate in Nursing Administration from Villanova University and a Master of Science - Adult Nurse Practitioner from Syracuse University.
