What's The Best Craft Beer Bar in Rockland?
- Craft House, Suffern
- Growler & Gill, Nanuet
- Seven Lakes Station, Sloatsburg
- The Local Tap House Of Nyack, Nyack
Rockland County has become quite the craft beer bar scene, stepping up its suds game and offering residents a host of “hoppy” options. We asked for the best in the county; you gave us your picks. Now, four finalists are competing in our “DVlicious Best Craft Beer Bar in Rockland County” contest. Each is being profiled this week.
Raise your glass and drink in the following; then click on your favorite. You can vote multiple times, albeit once per day.
Voting ends 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24. The winner will receive a framed DVlicious certificate as well as the pride in knowing it has raised the bar in Rockland.
Number of Craft Beers: Its 24 rotating taps of craft beers including IPS, Belgians, stouts, wheats, porters and more. About 500 bottles of brew from around the globe.
Why It’s Liquid Gold: Customers like the “Wall of Beer” where you can sample unfamiliar brews by mixing up your own six-pack. They also like its free beer tastings on Thursday nights. And, for those coming with friends there is lots of seating with big tables where crowds can hoist a few while playing board games and wolfing down thin-crust pizza, chili and other bar grub.
With names like 21st Amendment Toaster Pastry (nutty with notes of strawberry jam), Peekskill Kinship (a Hudson Valley sour), and Almanac Tropical Platypus (hints of kiwi, mango and passion fruit), some of Growler & Gill's beers are worth trying for their funky names alone.
Cheers to Beers: 148 Route 59, (845) 507-0899, www.growlerandgil.com.
