Edward Hopper House Announces Summer Programming

NYACK, N.Y. -- The Edward Hopper House will present concerts, artist receptions, family programs and film screenings this summer.

First Fridays will feature receptions for Victor Mirabelli July 1 and Norman Galinsky Aug. 5. Each reception begins at 6 p.m. 

The Mirabelli First Friday will feature the presentation "From Railroads to Rooftops: Reinterpreting Hopper & Hitchcock's American Landscapes" at 7 p.m. 

The Galinsky reception will be followed by a film screening of "Gregory Crewdson: Brief Encounters" at 7 p.m.

Families can drop in anytime for Second Sunday photo collage workshops between 1-3 p.m. July 10 and Aug. 14. There is a materials fee of $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers.

The Edward Hopper House and Rivertown FIlm Society will present two events for Film in the Garden. "The Man Who Fell to Earth" will screen at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 9. Tickets are $12, $8 for members. 

On Monday, Aug. 1, Steven Bernstein and the Millennial Territory Orchestra will perform scores to three Laurel and Hardy films. Tickets are $35 per person or $20 for Hopper House members. Children 10 and younger are admitted for free. The show begins at 8 p.m. 

The Music at the Garden series will feature the following concerts from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Thursdays: 

  • July 7: Lynn Stein, vocalist, and friends 
  • July 14: Mark Hagan Quintet 
  • July 21: Dwayne Eubanks Quintet 
  • July 28: Scott Wendholt Quartet 
  • Aug. 4: Bill Crow Quartet 
  • Aug. 11: David Budway Quartet

The Edward Hopper House also will participate in Art Walk from June 17-19.
